Discover Switzerland - Aescher Mountain Inn
The Aescher Mountain Inn (Berghaus Aescher) is a place like no other in Switzerland, Hikers and nature lovers from Switzerland and across the world have made it a world famous destination.
After a short walk with fantastic views over the Valleys, you will suddenly find yourself in front of the Aescher Inn, which is also one of the oldest, permanently functioning Restaurants in Switzerland.
The Inn is closed from November to May, due to weather conditions and danger of avalanches.
The mystical Caves were the first to show the evidence that humans lived in the Alps as early as 40'000 years ago. There are still many traces of those prehistoric times to be found throughout the caves, as well as human stone tools and animal bones.

The area is located in the Ebenalp - Horn Region, mostly known for great skiing slopes and untouched nature.
