Grindelwald - Jungfrau Region
Snow cowered Mountaintops of Jungfrau, Eiger and Schilthorn, wooden Chalets, idyllic Meadows with Swiss Cows, and Cable Cars all around. This is Grindelwald, one of the most famous destinations in Switzerland and Europe.
It is packed with tourists all year round, and in winter it also attracts many skiing fans, as it is one of Switzerland's best-known skiing areas.
It is located in the heart of the Jungfrau Region, connecting Interlaken in the south with Mt. Jungfraujoch in the north, both popular Tourists Destinations.
Jungfrau Region is also home to several other wildly popular places in Switzerland, like Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Piz Gloria.
Grindelwald can be reached by Train from Interlaken in about 30 minutes, the Ticket price for adults is around 12 Euro. Those wishing to go to Jungfraujoch, need to continue the Journey to Kleine Scheidegg, from where the "Jungfrau Train" will take you on top of Jungfraujoch.
From Zurich, you can reach Grindelwald in 3 hours by Train, while from Lucerne it takes 2 hours and 30 minutes.
For Accommodation and Restaurants, you might want to look at the surrounding Towns, especially Interlaken, since Grindelwald is a very small place and usually fully booked all year round.
